A beautiful piece of a very rare medal minted to commemorate the peace of perpetuity concluded on May 3, 1660 in Oliva. The peace that ended the Swedish Deluge.

The medal is by Jan Höhn the elder.

Beautiful patina of the old collection.

Obverse: bust of the king in armor, cloak, with laurel wreath of the Order of the Golden Fleece, to the right, under the arm initials -I-H- in the rim legend:
IOAN.CASIM-D.G-REX POL-&SUEC-M-D-L-R-PRUS-;

Reverse: panorama of Gdansk, below it a palm and olive branch, above it an eagle holding a wreath in its beak, in the rim legend:

Silver, diameter 42 mm, weight 17.7 g.
