First vintage of Batory's Gdansk pennies.

Obverse: in the pearl border crowned coat of arms of Gdansk in an ornamental cartouche surmounted by a palm tree, on its sides the date 15-78, in the outer border the legend:
+GROSSVS*CIVI*GEDANENSIS;

Reverse: in the pearl rim a bust wearing a crown and plate armor, in the outer rim legend:
-STEPHAN-D:G-REX-POL-D-P-;
