An excellent piece, with beautiful mint luster on both sides (recommended to see live).
Great freshness of the sheet with minor mint imperfections, characteristic of these sixpences.
Very rare in this state of preservation.

A large class, impressive sixpence of Stefan Batory from the Lithuanian mint.
A rare and typologically difficult coin to acquire.
Issued with the coat of arms of Lis, the Lithuanian chancellor Lev Sapieha, under the portrait of the king.
Variety with the mint mark - a leaf - placed between the shields.
Inscription variant of the legend LIT / LIT.

For the best collections.

Obverse: bust of the king in crown and armor, to the right, in the rim: STEP.D.G.REX-PO.M.D.LIT.

Reverse: shields with the coats of arms of Poland, Lithuania and the Batory family under the crown and the denomination, with the date 8-5 on the sides and a leaf between, in the rim:
GROS.ARGEN.SEX.M.D.LIT.
