A tremendously rare medal known to us only from the collection of van. Berckell described by Piot in 1880.
A medal commemorating the Partition Sejm with very rich symbolism.
Obverse: Polonia seated on a throne against which rested a shield with the coats of arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth receiving an order from a figure in Roman dress pointing to the coats of arms of Russia, Austria and Prussia being in the left field; in the right field a military encampment, at the top in a half-arc the inscription AUTORITATE ET POTENTIA, in the segment the legend:
POLONIA IN PERPETUUM/PACIFICATA EJUSQUE/LIMITES STATUTI/MDCCLXXV;
Reverse: figure on throne holding horn of plenty and caduceus, above her SALUTARIS CONCORDIA, in segment legend: AUSTRIAE RUSSIAE/BORUSSIAEQUE;
