Beautifully preserved, very rare medal.
Version without date 1821.
On May 30, 1818, the Administrative Council of the Kingdom of Poland, in order to promote craft and artistic activities, decided to organize Exhibitions in Warsaw. On their occasion it also established award medals. The medals were made in 3 classes, among which the HANDICRAFT ENTERTAINMENT was the first class.
Medal by Majnert. Piece struck with broken stamps.
Obverse: bust of the Tsar in a laurel wreath to the right, in the rim: legend:
ALEXANDER I. EMPEROR SA-W-ROS-KING OF POLAND*;
Reverse: seated, crowned woman with a horn of plenty and a shield with the coat of arms of the Kingdom, pointing to the sunrise over the mountains, opposite her parcels, instruments. In the rim: GROWTH OF HANDICRAFTS;
