Beautifully preserved, interesting French medal by Loos issued to commemorate the beheading of Louis Philippe II of Orleans.
Obverse: bust of the prince to the left, under it signature LOOS, in the rim legend:
PHILIPPE IOSEPH EGALITE CIDEVANT DUC D'ORLEANS;
Reverse: sword, scepter and crown entwined by a serpent, above legend:
DE SA/MONTAGNE ENFIN/LE MONSTRE/SUR LA CIME/RECOIT/PAR SES EGAUXLE PRIX/DU DERNIER CRIME, in section LE VI NOVEMBRE/MDCCXCIII;
