Rare Pomeranian issue by an unspecified issuer, dated 13th/14th century.
A variant with a ball at the bottom, not described in Kopicki's catalog.
Herman Dannenberg indicates that brakteates with a pair of crossed pastorals were minted from about the second half of the 13th century to the end of the first third of the 14th century in Western Pomerania (Kolobrzeg). The image depicted on the bracteate resembles the one appearing on Vinkenaugen-type denarii minted in Kolobrzeg in the 14th century and linked to the existence of the Kamieński Bishopric (DbgP 186,186a, 186b).
Very nice piece, luster, patina.
Definitely recommended.
Obverse: two pastorals, a sphere on top and a sphere on the bottom
Silver, diameter 15 mm, weight 0.27 g.
