Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: XF
Reference: Parchimowicz-Brzeziński 45, Kopicki 2541 (R3), Plage 459

A very nice, glossy piece, slightly rubbed in the highest parts of the relief, a slight unobtrusive blemish on the rim.

The highest denomination minted during the reign of Poniatowski, introduced by a Resolution of June 1794.

The small mintage - only 5,256 pieces - and good quality gold meant that not many of these coins have survived to this day, and they are an object of desire among collectors.

A variety with 19 leaves in a wreath.

Obverse: the king's head to the right, in the rim the legend:
STANISLAUS AUG.D.G.REX POL.M-D-L.;

Reverse: crowned coats of arms of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Poniatowskis in oval shields, under the wreath the denomination mark 3 in the wreath , in the rim the legend:
AUREUS 1794 POLONIAE;
