An early, very interesting cross den arius depicting a temple on four pillars with a double roof, with a palisade below.
According to Tadeusz Kalkowski, the composition is taken from the German denarii of Ludwig the Pious (841-840).
The weight of the coin slightly heavier than the German denarii, almost identical to the denarii of Boleslaw the Brave and Mieszko Lambert.
On German denarii we find legends that are clear and understandable, in this case we see dashes, wedges and circles.
Thus, the minters of these denarii were probably not people from Saxon mints, but rather from Slavic mints.
One of the most beautiful pieces of this type on the collector's market.
An exquisite mint piece, with strong luster and a cabinet-like, extremely charming patina.
Extremely rare in such excellent state of preservation.
For the best collections.
