Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: AU/XF+
Reference: Iger L.98.4.-, Kopicki 1099 (R1)

An exquisite mint piece, with beautiful luster and charming patina.

An interesting issue, from a transitional period, due to the absence of the coat of arms and initials of Treasurer Firlej and any mint marks on the reverse, but before the introduction of the letter L.

Rare, not described in Iger's catalog, portrait type of the variety with full date without the letter L.
We can see such a portrait, in this vintage, but in a variant with the letter L.
The punctuation variant of the reverse in the form of elongated commas, with a rosette after the date.

For the best collections.

Obverse: royal bust in crown and armor, with a tubular orifice seen from the side, to the right, in the rim a legend with punctuation in the form of crosses: SIG III D - G REX P M D L;
Reverse: denomination III, below it coats of arms of the Eagle of the Crown, the Sheaf of the Vasa dynasty and the Pose of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, below it a legend in three lines: GROS ARG/TRIP REG/POLONI, below it the date 1598* - punctuation in the form of longitudinal commas;
