An exquisite mint piece, with beautiful fresh luster throughout.
Subtle patina.
A rare type of triplet with Melchior Reysner's monogram without a border on the reverse.
A distinctly rarer variety, not described in the Iger catalog, for this bust:
- on the obverse, punctuation begins only before the word REX (in the form of commas);
- on the reverse III between the dots, behind the monogram ornament.
Definitely recommended.
Obverse: royal bust in crown to the right, in the rim legend with punctuation in the form of dots SIG 3 D G - REX P M D L;
Reverse: denomination .III., below it the coats of arms of the Eagle - of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland, the Sheaf - of the Vasa dynasty and the Pogo - of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, below it the legend in two lines with punctuation in the form of dots GROS ARG/TR R PO 97, below it the coat of arms - Lewart of the Grand Crown Treasurer Jan Firlej with initials I-F, on the right the monogram of Melchior Reysner;
