A beautiful periwinkle example of a halftone. Background flaws.
On the obverse the initials of the administrator of the St. Petersburg mint - Nikolai Joss, from the period of his one-year management of the mint.
Obverse: in a rope wreath the eagle of the Russian Empire of the 1830 pattern, on the sides of the tail the initials of the mincmaster, in the outer wreath information about the mint's ordination: ЧИСТАГО СЕРЕБРА 2 ЗОЛОТНИКА 10 1/2 ДОЛЕЙ;
Reverse: in laurel and oak wreath crowned inscription: ПОЛТИНА/1848/С.П.Б..;
