The bronze on offer was minted in Caesarea, one of the few provincial centers that had the right to mint silver coinage. During the reign of Lucius Verus and his co-ruler Marcus Aurelius, both didrachms and drachms were minted there, as well as (rarer) bronze denominations - their common feature is the depiction on the reverse of the Argaios (Latin: Argaeus) peak towering over the city.
