Reference: RIC 661 var., Alfoldi 022.055 (7 egz.)

The Emperor is holding a small, round shield (Parma shield). This type of shield is very sought-after by Probus collectors. It was struck only in the mints of Ticinum, Siscia, Serdica and Cyzicus. Obverse: radiate, cuirassed and helmeted bust left, holding spear and (Parma) shield, legend:
IMP PROBVS P F AVG;

Reverse: Concordia standing left, holding patera and double cornucopiae, legend:
CONCORDIA AVG; In exergue XXI, in field VII;

Silver, diameter 20-22 mm, weight 3,82 g, axis 12 h.

From the collection of a true connoisseur of Probus’ coinage
