Denomination introduced by the reform of January 11, 1924. Coin minted under the decree of the Minister of Finance of December 10, 1936. According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Poland of August 27, 1932, these coins could be used to pay debts up to a maximum of 100 zlotys. The coin remained in circulation until November 1939.
Coin minted in Warsaw in 1936 in an edition of 1,000,000 pieces to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the construction of the Port of Gdynia.
Obverse: crowned eagle, in the rim the legend: RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA 1936
Reverse: view of a ship at sea, below inscription 5 ZŁOTYCH 5, designer's initials J-A. Above the waves, on the right the Kościesza coat of arms - the mark of the State Mint in Warsaw.
