Denomination introduced by the reform of January 11, 1924. The coin was minted based on the decree of the Minister of Finance of December 10, 1936. According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Poland of August 27, 1932, the coins could be used to pay debts up to a maximum of 100 zlotys. The coin remained in circulation until November 1939.
The coin was minted in Warsaw only in 1936 in an edition of 3,918,000 pieces. The coin was minted for two years, without changing the date, in 1937 (2,850,000 pieces) and 1938 (1,068,000 pieces).
Obverse: crowned eagle, in the rim legend:RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA 1936.
Reverse: view of a ship at sea, below inscription 2 ZŁOTE 2, designer's initials J-A. Above the waves, on the right the Kościesza coat of arms - the mark of the State Mint in Warsaw.
