Germany, Brunswick-Lüneburg-Celle, Thaler 1662

A very nicely preserved, distinctive German thaler.

A rarer item in the trade, especially in such good condition.

Obverse: a twelve-field shield of arms topped with jewels, on its sides the initials LW and the mint mark, in the rim the legend:
CHRISTIAN:LUDOVICUS D.G-DUX BR:ET LUNEB:;

Reverse: in a wreath a horse to the left, in the rim legend:
SINCERE ET CONSTANTER*ANNO*1662*;
