A very well preserved piece.
A book on the circulation of substitute money in Upper Silesia during the plebiscite and the Third Silesian Uprising, covering in the catalog part about 600 values (400 are shown in the scans) issued by 61 issuers from Silesia, Poland and Germany directly related to the plebiscite area.
The first part of the catalog takes into account printing errors and variations.
Part two contains descriptions and translations of the texts and propaganda slogans contained on the vouchers. Among the published vouchers are pieces from the collection of Dr. Arnold Keller (previously unpublished, now in the collection of the Deutsche Bundesbank Frankfurt am Main). In the book I refer to the catalogs: Keller, Grabowski, Tieste, Ritter, Geiger and others. This is the first such detailed publication on the paper and porcelain replacement money of Upper Silesia. "A novelty in this compilation is the listing of the dimensions of the values, the type of paper, color varieties, printing errors, design authors and printers. A pattern of the watermark has been placed next to the values having a watermark. (...) Values in circulation from 1920 to 1922 were taken into account. Propaganda slogans in German were translated into Polish and placed in the descriptive section. In one case, the text was translated from the Lower Silesian dialect into German and Polish (Paczków). The publication includes notgelds known from the 2019 collection.
