add Your note
Lot description Show orginal version
Reference: Banaszkiewicz -, Zawistowski -

A very interesting patriotic piece in the form of an eagle medallion superimposed on a Russian bow for privates of the 1907 pattern.

Similar wares in the form of officers' bows with eagle medallions are described in Zawistowski and Banaszkiewicz as bows for the Polish Legion, which did not enter the uniforms. Medallions alone without Russian bows of various eagle designs are also known.

Description: bow of the wz.1907 for privates in the form of a circular doughnut composed of 4 oval fields of alternating black and orange, overlaid with a medallion of white metal with the image of a crowned eagle with upraised wings and a narrow five-petal tail;

Losses of varnish, traces of use, including two holes from attachment to the cap.

Preservation condition of the item good.

A possibly unique item, of which a second piece may no longer appear.

White metal, dimensions 28.4 x 40 mm.
