NOTE: This coin is part of the scarce first phase of Ticinum’s 6th emission (according to Pink’s emission classification) with greek numerals of officinae not accompanied by the XXI monetary reform mark. In the much more common and abundant second phase of 6th emission the greek numerals were followed by the XXI mark in the exergue.
Extremely rare reverse type at Ticinum (Felicit temp) in combination with an atypical obverse legend for Ticinum (IMP PROBVS P F AVG, instead of IMP C PROBVS P F AVG or IMP C PROBVS AVG). Although RIC V.2 lists such obverse legend (legend no. 4) under no. 334, no. 382 and no. 423, no such coins have been actually confirmed.
This particular coin is an unpublished unicum of the highest numismatic interest!
