Piece with very nicely preserved details, in the dark patina of the old collection.
Unlike most known pieces the coin is well struck.
The coin was minted as the highest denomination of Albrecht after the secularization of the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the German House in Jerusalem. The last vintage of the minting of sixpences, ending the short - only three-year history of this denomination in the minting of the new Prince.
The yearly mintage has been minted only twice in the last 20 years (one piece), and since 1990 we have reached only 4 pieces minted in 1994, 1996, 1999, and in 2019 and 2020 (one piece).
A coin of immense rarity, adorning only the most outstanding coin collections of Ducal Prussia.
Obverse: in a double border - rope and pearl - a bust of the prince in armor, facing right, in the outer border a legend beginning with the Hohenzollern shield punctuated by three leaves:
ALBERTVS D G MAR BRAN DVX PRVSSI;
Reverse: in the rope border an ornamental cartouche with the coat of arms of Ducal Prussia, above it the denomination V-I, on the sides initials K-I being the designation of the mint in Königsberg and mincmaster Jost Decius; in the outer rim a legend punctuated by trilaterals:
GROS AR SEXDVP DVCIS PRVSSIE 1535;
An item worthy of recommendation for the best collections, and can be an ornament to many a collection, even of a museum nature.
